Born in Abbadia San Salvatore (SI) on Monte Amiata in Tuscany, in a luxuriant environment of woods and nature.
His encounter with music takes place at the age of thirteen when his brother Roberto brings home an Lp “Andres Segovia plays Bach“. Using a mono turntable and an old Eko guitar in a few months he “pulled down by ear” all the songs on the album. Even today he affirms: “That was the most important period in my musical formation”.
His musical interests quickly migrated to the progressive 60s/70s and jazz rock of groups such as Area and Perigeo. The culmination of this period is the performance of August 9, 1975 in Follonica where still very young with his group (with the unacceptable name Parametro Tipo) opens a historic concert by Area. After that he moved to Siena for university studies where he obtained a degree in Biological Sciences.
It was in this period that he began his experience with Siena Jazz, first as a student and then as a teacher.
Siena Jazz will lead him to meet extraordinary musicians with whom countless projects and collaborations will be born. In his music and in his performances there are references to the styles he has studied and elaborated over the years, from classical music, to rock, to popular music and finally to mainstream and European jazz.
This allows him to brilliantly immerse himself in the most diverse musical genres, making contamination the main ingredient of his style.
